The Holy Metropolitan Cathedral began construction in the year 1227 on the foundations of the Visigothic Cathedral from the 6th century, which, in turn, was used as a mosque.

Built with white stone from Olihuelas, it features spectacular chapels such as the main chapel, a splendid chapterhouse, extraordinary stained glass windows, a sacristy housing works by important painters, and a bell tower from which magnificent views of the cathedral can be appreciated.
